Archive: Long Month
Good news: Hit my first goal of losing 30 pounds yesterday (it took 8 weeks). Now only 100 left to go. Heh, funny to say the word "only", but thats how I'm feeling. I made it through vacation, made it through week after week of HEAT here in VA. I've worked up to walking almost 2 miles in the morning and most evenings now. Sometimes I don't make the evening due to it still being too freaking hot out.
M-W-F I do what I call 'floor excercises' that involve mostly working on legs and abs etc. T-TH-S I lift 10lb weights and work on strength training for my arms. Sundays is walking only.
I hit a plateau for about 1.5 weeks where I stayed at 255, but then all of a sudden it broke and dropped 5 pounds in just a few days. I'll take that.
I'm still keeping my calorie intake about 1400-1500 a day, and trying to keep the calories from fat at 20% or less in whatever I'm eating. Cheese is the hardest there, I can almost always find fat free cheddar, but the mozzarella is hardly ever in stock it seems.
4 16oz bottles of water a day at least as well, I still have a hard time believing I actually like and prefer water over anything else. Oh, and yogurt... I've seemed to finally develop a liking for it. And for the first time, Brian got some frozen yogurt yesterday, completely fat free. Oh that was good stuff.
Hardest thing I think is keeping my portion sizes at the recommended serving sizes. Exercise has gotten ALOT easier overall, and I'm also enjoying that. I went looking online today to see about some sort of home gym. Getting the treadmill in the fall will help ALOT, won't have to go out in the heat and once winter hits the cold and ick, and I might even add in another hour of walking during the day as well since I won't have to be outside in the heat. I just don't think the dumbell training is getting me enough, I don't know if I'm doing some of them right and rolling around on the floor isn't always feeling good. I'm interested in trying to do something else, something that will get more intense as I can handle it. We'll see. Alot of things in the work in the future.
I have next to nothing left in clothing, and still more to get rid of and replace. I have no jeans at all, 2 pairs of shorts that fit and one skirt that I'm wearing the hell out of. Bras and underwear need serious replacing too, they are getting too damn big! Buying my first clothing in non-plus sizes though, now that felt good. Theres a wedding Oct. 1 for Brian's cousin, and I can't wait to see just how good I'll look for it. None of his family knows I'm losing weight, so I'm going to enjoy the results of that surprise. Went from 26/28 in pants down to 22's already, went from 26/28 in shirts down to 18/20's. Feeling the curse of my mother's side of the family now, my hips are bigger than my waist and my shirts start to roll. Heh, damn funny actually and I'll take it.
